We developed GainPlan with one clear goal: to ensure that you retain control over your data.
For this reason, our desktop application processes your projects exclusively locally on your computer. We deliberately do not use cloud storage, telemetry, or usage analytics. The limited personal data we process (e.g. when you purchase or activate your license) is restricted to the minimum necessary.
This Privacy Policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit our website and use our services.

2. Data We Process
We process personal data only where this is necessary to operate our website, provide our software, or process a purchase.
We do not use advertising or tracking services.
3. Visiting Our Website
Our website is hosted using Google Firebase Hosting.
When you access the website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary information, in particular:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- page accessed
- browser type
- operating system
- HTTP status
- other technically necessary server log data
This processing is necessary to provide the website securely and reliably.
4. Cookies
Our website does not use analytics, marketing, or advertising cookies.
If technically necessary cookies are used, they serve exclusively to operate the website.
5. Embedded YouTube Videos
On some pages, we embed videos from YouTube, such as tutorials or user guides.
The videos are loaded only after you have expressly consented. No connection to YouTube is established before then.
After you consent, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. In the process, personal data (in particular your IP address) may be transmitted to YouTube or Google.
Where possible, we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).

6. Contacting Us
If you contact us by email, we process:
- your name (if provided)
- your email address
- the content of your message
We use this data exclusively to handle your inquiry.
7. Purchases and Payment Processing
When you purchase GainPlan, the payment is processed by Mollie.
The personal data required to process the payment is transmitted to Mollie.
Please refer to Mollie’s Privacy Policy for information about the data Mollie processes.
We receive from Mollie only the information we need to process your order and provide you with a license.
8. Software Licensing
The desktop application can be installed without a valid license, but it can be used only after activation.
To activate it, you enter your license code in the application.
A one-time connection to our license server is then established to verify the validity of the license code.
In particular, the following data is processed:
- the license code entered
- technical connection data (e.g. IP address)
- time of activation
After successful activation, the license is stored locally on your device.
The application does not communicate with our license server on an ongoing basis.
9. Using the Demo Application
We offer a demo version of GainPlan on our website that runs directly in your browser.
The demo is provided using Google Firebase Hosting. When the application is first loaded, technically necessary connection data is processed, in particular:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- browser type and operating system
- requested files
- other technically necessary server log data
After the application has loaded, your demo data is processed exclusively locally in your browser. The demo stores data exclusively in your browser’s local storage.
Projects or entries you create in the demo are not transmitted to our servers. We have no access to this data and do not analyze your usage behavior.
10. Using the Desktop Application
GainPlan was developed according to the principle of Privacy by Design.
The desktop application processes your projects and planning data exclusively locally on your own device.
In particular:
- no cloud synchronization
- no telemetry
- no usage statistics
- no automatic transmission of your project data
- no analysis of your usage behavior
- no disclosure of your data to third parties
You retain full control over your data at all times.
11. Software Updates
GainPlan does not automatically check for updates.
If you manually check for a new version or download a new version, a connection to our download server is established.
Only technically necessary connection data is generated in the process (e.g. IP address and time of download).
12. Discord Community
Our website and application contain invitation links to our Discord community.
A connection to Discord is established only when you follow such a link.
Discord is solely responsible for processing personal data on Discord.
Participation in our community is voluntary.
13. Recipients of Personal Data
We use the following service providers to provide our services:

These service providers receive personal data only to the extent necessary to provide the respective service.
14. Transfers of Data to Third Countries
Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area or process data outside it.
Where personal data is transferred to third countries, such transfers are carried out in accordance with the legal requirements of the GDPR, for example on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
15. Retention Period
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law.
In particular:
- email inquiries: until they have been fully handled or for as long as statutory retention obligations apply
- invoice and payment data: in accordance with statutory retention periods
- license information: for as long as necessary to provide your license
- project data: exclusively on your own device
16. Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights in particular:
- access to your stored data
- rectification of inaccurate data
- erasure of your data
- restriction of processing
- data portability
- objection to certain processing activities

17. Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
The Austrian Data Protection Authority is the supervisory authority primarily responsible for our company.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may amend this Privacy Policy if legal requirements change or if we offer new features or services.
